Artist Wineke Gartz and film maker Pieter Jan Smit will reflect upon their participation and share the outcomes of the seminar & work sessions Rupture of Representation (May 13-14-15) with short film screenings and presentations.

About the guest speakers

Wineke Gartz (born 1968, Eindhoven) is based in Amsterdam. Her site-specific installations consist of complex overlays of imagery and media, often with the use of music and multiple video and slides projections and with the integral use of the architectural space. Wineke Gartz work was presented at venues as the Busan Biennale in Busan, CCA in Kitakyushu, Artswestchester in White Plains, Festival Incubate in Tilburg, 3A Gallery and The Drawing Center in New York, and at Ellen de Bruijne Projects in Amsterdam.

Pieter Jan Smit (born 1953) is an independent filmmaker and a teacher. He made documentaries and short fiction for cinema and public television. He teaches cinema and scriptwriting at Inholland University of Applied Sciences in Rotterdam and lectured at Rotterdam Art Academy and the Georgian State University of Theater and Film. He is a programmer for the monthly Khachapuri Kino Club. With Nino Purtskhvanidze he founded the filmproduction company PS Pictures.
